Rotomolded Polymer Construction
The intake housing is manufactured using a rotational molding process that creates consistent wall thickness, superior strength, and exceptional heat resistance. Seamless One-Piece Design
Unlike multi-piece intake systems, the IE intake utilizes a single-piece airbox for an OEM-quality appearance, exceptional durability, and factory-like fitment. The clean design minimizes potential leak points while providing a premium engine bay appearance.
Integrated Velocity Stack
A built-in velocity stack creates a smooth transition between the oversized air filter and the turbo inlet, reducing turbulence while increasing airflow efficiency. The result is improved laminar airflow, lower restriction, and greater turbocharger efficiency.
Optional Turbo Inlet Upgrade
The intake system is designed to integrate seamlessly with the optional IE Turbo Inlet Pipe. Together, the combination increases airflow from 24% over stock to an impressive 50.4%, further reducing restrictions between the airbox and turbocharger.
Note: The IE Turbo Inlet is sold separately and can be installed during the initial intake installation or added at a later date.
Hybrid Turbo Ready
The intake and optional turbo inlet are engineered to support stock and many aftermarket hybrid turbochargers. Optional CNC-machined adapter rings allow the system to maintain maximum airflow while adapting to larger compressor inlets without introducing restrictions.
Note: Hybrid turbo adapter rings are sold separately from the IE Turbo Inlet.
Dual Pressure Airflow Design
The intake utilizes multiple airflow paths to ensure unrestricted air supply at every power level. High-pressure ram air enters directly from the front grille, while additional airflow is supplied through strategically positioned low-pressure filter plate louvers whenever engine demand increases. This dual-zone approach helps maintain consistent airflow even on high horsepower applications.
Enhanced Performance Sound
The factory airbox is designed primarily to suppress engine and turbocharger noise. The IE Intake System allows the sounds of turbo spool, throttle response, and diverter valve operation to be heard clearly while maintaining excellent filtration and drivability.
