TCU Compatibility:

Late 2022+ B9.5 RS4 & RS5 model-year vehicles are equipped with TCU flashing protections that prevent OBD unlocking and tuning, known as the 401 bootloader. In order to unlock your TCU, select the Bootloader Unlock Harness (BLU) at checkout when also purchasing your TCU tune. This harness allows for a one-time unlock, enabling OBD flashing via 034SPI, allowing you to flash with your Dynamic+ TCU tune. Learn more about the Bootloader Unlock Harness (BLU) here.

BLU is only compatible with 034SPI and requires that you own a 034Motorsport TCU tune.

034Motorsport VariSpec is a feature customization suite within 034SPI, giving you direct control over market-first features and functionalities within your tunes. Instead of being locked into a single feature set, VariSpec lets you tailor key performance and drivability features to your hardware, driving style, and personal preferences.

With VariSpec on your B9/B9.5 RS4 or RS5, you can configure things like:

Crackle Overrun

Fine-tune your crackle overrun exactly how you want it. Enable or disable crackles entirely, or independently adjust duration from 1 to 2.5 seconds, aggressiveness across five intensity levels, and firing pattern, from subtle pops to an aggressive motorsport-inspired sound.

Exhaust Flap Control

Customize factory exhaust valve behavior with multiple operating modes: Factory, Dynamic+ Optimized, Always Open, or Valveless Exhaust Mode for aftermarket exhaust systems without exhaust valves.

Top Speed Limiter

Choose between the factory speed limiter and an unrestricted top speed.

Auto Start/Stop Control

Configure how the factory Auto Start/Stop system operates, from Factory Behavior to Default Off.

Left-Foot Braking

Enable simultaneous brake and throttle input for brake boosting and trail braking during performance driving. Track use only.

Rolling KLi-MAX

Enables AMAX-based high-performance shift strategy during rolling acceleration in Sport and Manual modes for faster, more direct shifts under load above approximately 5,500 RPM.

Gear Display

Displays the current gear in the instrument cluster.

Improved Torque Management

Torque calibration is specifically optimized for the EA839 2.9TT and AL552 ZF8 transmission, ensuring the TCU remains fully aligned with increased output. This allows the drivetrain to handle higher torque levels with confidence while preserving the smooth, refined performance expected from the RS4 & RS5 in all driving conditions.

Increased Launch Torque and Launch RPM

The targeted torque amount when engaging Launch Control is increased, raising the Launch Control RPM over stock. This results in drastically quicker accelerations from a Launch, allowing for blisteringly fast 0-60 and 1/4 mile results that are bound to make you and your passengers grin from ear to ear.

Gear Display in All Driving Modes

The active gear is displayed across all drive modes, providing constant visibility and improved driver awareness. This added feedback enhances driver confidence and control, whether cruising or pushing the vehicle in more dynamic driving situations.
